Accident: Iliamna, AK. 05-Jul-1983. The aircraft landed short of the runway and collapsed the landing gear. The pilot said the aircraft encountered a downdraft on short final approach and the application of power did not prevent the aircraft from contacting a 15 inch berm on the approach end. The pilot stated that the main gear and tail gear sheared off and the aircraft slid to a stop on its belly. Pilot and passenger uninjured. Aircraft suffered substantial damage.
