Unit providing erroneous fuel flow readings and causing the air data computer (adc) also installed in the aircraft to function improperly. Air data computer installed under iaw stc no. sa02203ak.

Service Difficulty Report. Location unknown. 25-May-2007.  Engine lost some power on descent, once the plane landed, pilot reported a metal to metal sound. Once maintenance arrived a large amount of oil was seen at the exhaust tailpipe. After pulling the propeller through, a hydraulic lock occurred and at that point crew placed the aircraft on a barge to return to town. At engine removal a large amount of oil was leaking through the supercharger section of the engine and metal contaminates were discovered in the oil screen.

Accident: Ketchikan AK. 02-Jul-2012. The pilot of the float-equipped airplane reported that he planned to step taxi while making a left turn, and then takeoff. He applied takeoff power to get the airplane on step, then reduced power, and started a turn to left. The airplane turned to the left sharper than he anticipated. He applied right rudder and reduced left aileron. As the turn started to straighten out, the airplanes right wing struck the water, sustaining substantial damage. There were no pre-accident mechanical issues with the airplane. ANC12CA060.
