Accident: Manitoba, 23-Jun-2003. The aircraft was departing from the water base at Thompson from the Burntwood River for Utik Lake with 7 people on board when it overturned on takeoff. As the aircraft came up onto the 'step' a wind gust lifted the right wing and the left wing entered the water causing the aircraft to cartwheel. Reportedly, application of full right aileron did not stop the wing movement. ERS responded. A company operator observed the takeoff and responded with a boat to the crash site. The aircrfat was inverted in the water. All the occupants were rescued with no reported injuries. The aircraft was substantially damaged. Reported winds were 13 gusting to 22 knots.
