USAF History

52-6112 was made available on 10-Apr-1953 to the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit) unit of the USAF at Downsview, ON., and accepted on 15-Apr-1953. It was assigned to the Tactical Air Force on 22-Apr-1953 when it was attached to the 1st Liaison Squadron at George AFB.,. CA. It remained at George and was passed to the 479th Day Fighter Wing remaining with this unit until 08-Apr-1955, It now moved to the Training Command at Nellis AFB., NV., and was attached to the 3595th Combat Crew Training Wing until 01-Jul-1958 when a re-organisation saw the unit re-assigned to the TAC and also re-designated as the 4520th Combat Crew Training Wing.

On 29-Apr-1960 it moved to Langley AFB., VA., and was attached to the 4440th Air Defence Group before moving across to the 4500th Air Base Wing. A re-assignment to the Strategic Air Command on 25-Jan-1963 and attachment to the 307th Bombardment Wing followed.

It was struck off charge from the USAF inventory on 15-Mar-1974 having been previously stored at Warner Robins AFB.
