CADORS 2008O0915 Accident 2008-05-15 The Pickerel Arm Camps de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver aircraft was on a VFR flight. FSS advised of overdue aircraft on company flight note to Pickeral Arm Camps on Lake Minnitaki at 2205. Aircraft was seen doing touch and go on a lake and was observed disappearing below treeline. Several aircraft in the area advised hearing 121.5 ELT signal in the area. Another aircraft was dispatched to look for the missing aircraft. The Beaver was discovered nose down in a swamp with wings missing however the pilot was waving on the shoreline. A helicopter was dispatched and retrieved pilot who sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance on arrival at Sioux Lookout Airport (CYXL). RCC and TSB advised. Initial followup: The TSB will not be going to site but wait until the aircraft is brought to an area it can be inspected from.
