USAF History

52-6100 was made available on 27-Feb-1953 to the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit) unit t of the USAF at Downsview, ON., and accepted on 18-Mar-1953. It was delivered to the Tactical Air Force on 24-Mar-1953 at Alexandria AFB., LA where it was attached to the 6th Liaison Squadron. It briefly passed to Langley AFB., from 26-Mar-1953 until 01-Apr-1953 passing back to the 6th Liaison Squadron. Staying at Alexandria it also had a brief stay with the 366th Fighter Bomber Wing until 27-Jan-1954.

A new assignment now saw it move to Holloman AFB., NM and to the Air Research and Development Command attached to the Holloman Development Centre which was the host unit for the base. This occurred on 27-Jan-1954. There followed a brief transfer to the Air Material Command San Antonio location at Kelly AFB., TX between 22-Feb-1954 and 07-Mar-1954 for maintenance before returning to Holloman. It is reported to have Suffered category 4 (serious / destroyed) damage during a fatal crash on 25-Aug-1955 at a location situated 13 mi. North of Safford, AZ. 25-Aug-1955. Pilot Wilfred P. Champlain.

There is no further history recorded so it is assumed that the airframe was written off.
