USAF History

52-6085 was made available to the USAF at 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas) unit Downsview, ON., on 22-Jan-1953, and was accepted on the same day. It was assigned to the Air Defence Command and delivered to Stewart AFB., NY., on 22-Jan-1953 where it was initially attached to the 4700th Air Base Group which was responsible for the station support units, before it moved to the 514th Air Defence Group at Minneapolis St Paul AFB., on 25-May-1953. It effectively remained at this location until 10-Mar-1956 being re allocated to the 475th Fighter Group on 18-Aug-1955 but with one small re location to Sioux City, IA., with the 53rd Fighter Group from 01-Jan-1956 until the 13-Jan-1956 intervening.

After this it was assigned to the Strategic Air Command and to Puerto Rico where it was attached to the 72nd Air Base Group at Ramey AFB.

There is no record on microfilm after the above allocation so we are unable to record the remainder of its USAF history.
