Accident: Port Arthur, ON. Lat 48°33’N Lon 89°13’W 31-Aug 1968. The evidence indicates that the float fitted aircraft impacted while in a spiral dive and moving fast. This may have been the result of the pilot attempting to fly on VFR using instruments with a limited panel and very little experience. The aircraft was destroyed and the pilot James Wieben (presumed a relative of the Owner of Superior Airways, Orville Wieben) killed in the crash.
