• de Havilland Aircraft, Hatfield. Delivered 03-Feb-1961 to Hawarden, Chester via Liverpool Docks. First flight, 25-May-1961.

• XP807 6 Flight Army Air Corps (AAC). Middle Wallop,Hampshire, 02-Jun-1961 until 01-Mar-1966.

Transferred to 132 Flight AAC on formation 01-Mar-1966 with XP770, 805 and 826.

Unit re-titled 132 Flight RCT 01-Apr-1967 and moved to Old Sarum, Wiltshire on 06-Jun-1967

Unit incorporated into 667 Aviation Squadron in Jun-1969 and re-titled 132 Aviation Flight on 16-Jan-1970 and moved to Netheravon, Wiltshire, on 21-Sep-1970.

Accident: Near Dattein, Germany. 14-May-1971. During a flight to BAOR, the aircraft crashed in thunderstorm. The Commandant of the AAC Centre at Middle Wallop, Brig W. McNinch, OBE, DFC, Maj M. G. Mc Indoe RCT, Officer Commanding 132 Flight and Capt D. G. Hazelton, RCT were killed.

The aircraft was seen to leave cloud in a steep dive, whereupon a wing folded and the crash occurred. It was believed that the aircraft had suffered inadvertent 'negative G' during the thunderstorm activity and as a result the bottom wing strut bolt had sheered, thus the wing was no longer correctly braced. It is believed that the US Military Beaver fleet had also suffered a number of similar fatal accidents under these circumstances.
