USAF History

52-6079 was made available on 19-Dec-1952 and accepted on 12 Jan-1953 by the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit), at Downsview, ON., after which it was assigned to the Air Defence Command and delivered to the 4700th Air Base Group at Stewart AFB., NY on 30-Jan-1953. It moved across the base to the 9th Liaison Squadron on 15-Apr-1953 and then moved to Burlington AFB., VT., with this unit on 11-May-1953 remaining until 25-Sep-1953. It then transferred to the 528th Air Defence Group at Presque Isle, ME and then a short stay at Dow AFB., and the 49th Fighter Interceptor Squadron between 25-Nov-1954 and 11-Jan-1955 after which it returned to the 528th Air Defence Group until 15.Mar-1955. There followed a period of maintenance at Downsview in the middle of 1955 for six weeks, remaining until 05-Jun-1955.

It then passed to the Air Material Command and to the Middleton Air Depot at Olmstead, PA. It was stored until 17-Oct-1955 after which it was assigned to the US Army and possibly joined the 15th Aviation Battalion, 1st Cavalry.

Its further military history will hopefully be researched in the future.
