Note: There is correspondence of January 1960 regarding the export of a Beaver to Cuba with Air Carrier Service as the agent. There is no direct evidence but it is possible that this was c/n 1360, which either went to Cuba or was retained by Air Carriers who had already purchased it off the production Line.

Accident: Island Lake Seaplane Base, Nikiski, AK. 24-Jun-2002. At the end of a positioning flight from Tyanek, the airline transport certificated pilot was landing toward the west in the float-equipped airplane. The wind was from the north, about five knots. The pilot indicated he was in the landing flare, and the airplane's airspeed was about 50 knots. As the airplane touched down, the left float dug into the water. The airplane pivoted to the left and nosed down. The left float was crushed upward against the fuselage. The pilot said that he and his passenger exited the airplane, which remained floating nose down for about 15 minutes. The airplane then slowly nosed over and remained floating upside down. The pilot and passenger, a company guide, were uninjured. NTSB report ANC02LA060.
