51-6266 US Army. Delivered 20-Apr-1951 to Army Field Forces Board, AL, for evaluation as YL-20.

Note: 51-6266 was the first Beaver in Korea. It arrived in Korea on 22 December 1951 having been aboard the carrier USS WINDHAM BAY to Japan. It was accompanied by Capt. Guy C. Meiss and crew chief MSgt. James O. Goodwin. It was assigned to 8th Army Flight Detachment and went on tour in country to demonstrate its capabilities. The army wanted it there in time to monitor its operation in four months of winter.

Accident: In Honduras, 20-May-1964. Crashed. Details unknown.

Note: The Honduran marking is civil (See also c/n 174). Possibly used by Air Carrier Service Corp for the CIA. This aircraft, as DHC-2 or L-20A, does not appear in the Honduran Air Force inventory.
