USAF History

52-6101 was available on 06-Mar-1953 to the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit) unit of the USAF at Downsview, ON., and accepted on 20-Mar-1953. It was delivered to the Tactical Air Force on 07-Apr-1953 at Donaldson AFB., SC., where it was attached to the 7th Liaison Squadron. On 18-Jun-1953 the aircraft crossed the country and was attached to Larson AFB., WA., with the 7th before moving back to Donaldson on 31-Aug-1953.

The aircraft was then attached to the 463rd Troop Carrier Wing, (Medium) at Ardmore, OK., between 31-Aug-1953 and 26-Apr-1955 before being assigned to the Air Training Command at Luke AFB., AZ., joining the 3600th Combat Crew Training Wing. It returned to Downsview for maintenance between 2657 and 28-Jun-1957 and returned to its active unit at Luke. Under re-organisation the ATC at Luke was transferred to the Tactical Air Command and as a consequence the 3600th was re designated 4510th during 1958.
