Accident 05-Aug-2006 Craig Harbour, AK. The aircraft was approaching to land in Craig Harbor, when it struck a boat. The boat had been travelling at approx 25 kts towards the aircraft from the aircraft's right side. Neither the aircraft pilot nor the boat captain saw the other, as they were both in the other's blind spot. The pilot initiated a go-around, and returned to Ketchikan for assistance. In Ketchikan, the pilot landed the straight float equipped aircraft on the runway to avoid a water landing that he deemed dangerous due to damage to the underside of his floats. The landing on the runway was uneventful. There were no injuries.
