USAF History

52-6096 was available on 02-Mar-1953 to the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit) unit of the USAF at Downsview, ON., and accepted on 10-Mar-1953. It was assigned to the Tactical Air Force on 11-Mar-1953 and delivered to the 6th Liaison Squadron, 366th Air Base Group, at Alexandria, LA. It is reported to have been involved in a landing incident at Jonesville, LA on 19-May-1953 when it suffered category 3 damage (medium/serious). More details currently unavailable. The pilot was Robert E. Enander. The aircraft was recommended for reclamation but this seems to have been rescinded as it moved across to the 366th Fighter Bomber Wing on 18-Jan-1954.

It was then re assigned to the Air Training Command with a move to Luke AFB., AZ. Initially it was attached to the 3500th Combat Crew Training Wing staying until 17-Jan-1958.

Following a re-organisation it was re assigned back to the Tactical Air Command on 17-Jan-1958 still at Luke AFB., but remained with a training unit as it was attached to the 4510th Combat Crew Training Wing.
