USAF History
52-6093 was made available to the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit) unit of the USAF at Downsview, ON., on 02-Feb-1953, accepted on 12-Feb-1953 and delivered to the Air Defence Command at Stewart AFB., NY., and the 4700th Air Base Group on 24-Feb-1953. It remained there until passed on to the 9th Liaison Squadron on the same base on 15-Apr-1953 before returning to the 4700th on 25-Sep-1953.
It then passed to Mitchel AFB., NY., and to the 26th Air Division (Defence) on 01-Mar-1954 remaining until 16-Aug-1957 but with a return to Downsview for maintenance between 21-Sep-1956 and 16-Oct-1956 actually quite a quick turnaround.
Its next allocation was to the 639th Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron at Lowther, ON., Canada
The record card also indicates that it served at the K. I. Sawyer AFB., in MI., from the 14-Mar 1962 and with the 639th but this is not verified from other sources.
Its further USAF history is still to be researched.
