52-6065 USAF #1210. L-20 No: 211. Command AF-3. Delivered 15-Nov-1952. Built as L-20A and re-designated U-6A in 1962.

USAF History

52-6065 was made available on 30-Oct-1952 and accepted on 05-Nov-1952 by the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit), at Downsview, ON., after which it was assigned to the Air Defence Command and delivered to the 29th Air Division at Great Falls AFB., MT., on 17-Nov-1952 only remaining for the day before transfer to the Strategic Air Command and the 3902nd Air Base Group at Offutt AFB.

It stayed at Offutt until 22-Feb-1953 after which it returned to the Air Defence Command at McChord and the 4704th Defence Wing and then on 01-Aug-1953 to the 567th Air Defence Group. For the remainder of its career up to 22-Sep-1958 its main location was at McChord with the but also with units of the 325th Fighter Group but alternating with various Aircraft Control and Warning Squadrons at Baldy Hughes Air Station, BC., Saskatoon Air Station, SK., and Puntzi Air Station, BC., for a few weeks at a time.

The record card indicates that it crashed at McChord on 22-Sep-1958 but details are currently unknown.
